Luigi Ferraro

Post Doctoral Associate

Luigi earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Sapienza University of Rome. His undergraduate thesis focused on modeling and simulation in the biological domain, while his Master’s studies deepened his expertise in computational biology, particularly systems biology. To apply this knowledge, he dedicated his Master’s thesis to Drug Repurposing.

He then pursued a Ph.D. in Computational and Quantitative Biology at Federico II University of Naples, where he focused on Drug Repurposing and Drug Targeting for cancer treatment. His doctoral research involved developing an interpretable deep learning model that integrated multi-omics data, along with an algorithm to enhance data compression and interpretation.

Currently, Luigi is a Post Doctoral Associate at the University of Miami, where he is further investigating single-cell analysis in the progression of cancer.
